Group Plans to Get Westboro Baptist Church to Protest Furry Conventions

[Editors note:  Normally, I toss out any user submitted trolling information as it normally involves party X trolling party Y on Youtube or some local forum, and the latest furry getting butt-hurt because someone told them to "yiff in hell" or called them a "furfag".  This is typical and in no way news worthy.  If, however, there is activity to get a group like WBC involved in trolling furries, that, I feel, at least deserves a heads up to those running and attending Furry conventions across the country.]

Users of the forums at Kongregate don’t like furries.  One group plans on taking the hatred and trolling to 9000.

Mission: get WBC to protest outside a furry convention

What this will accomplish:
1. the furries will get butthurt
2. if the furries try to retaliate, they will lose to WBC in court.
3. due to WBC being media whores, this will throw furries into the public eye

HOW WE CAN DO THIS:
1. find out when the next furry convention is
2. Inform the WBC that there is a convention for GAY ATHEISTS who SODOMIZE ANIMALS
3. Give them the location and date
4. WATCH FOR THE LULZ

So who is Westboro Baptist Church?  Here’s Wikipedia’s info on WBC:

The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) is an independent Baptist church known for its extreme stance against homosexuality and its protest activities, which include picketing funerals and desecrating the American flag. The church is widely described as a hate group and is monitored as such by the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center. It is headed by Fred Phelps and consists mostly of members of his large family; in 2007, it had 71 members. The church is headquartered in a residential neighborhood on the west side of Topeka about three miles west of the Kansas State Capitol at 3701 West 12th Street,Topeka, KansasUnited States. Its first public service was held on the afternoon of Sunday, November 27, 1955.

The church has been actively involved in the anti-gay movement since at least 1991 when it sought a crackdown on homosexual activity at Gage Park six blocks northwest of the church. In addition to anti-gay protests at military funerals, the organization pickets other celebrity funerals that are likely to get it media attention.

The WBC is not affiliated with any known Baptist conventions or associations. The church describes itself as following Primitive Baptist and Calvinist principles, though mainstream Primitive Baptists reject the WBC and Phelps.

  1. … Ah, so they haven’t accomplished this yet. Shame.

I think it’d be a real boon for the furries. (Seriously, is there anything the WBC protests that people *DON’T* like?)

  2. The fact that people would even consider this just seems like a pathetic cry for attention on their part.  And with the bad PR that WBC gets, you’d probably get counter-protests on principle alone, which would contradict the entire point of trying to get them to protest a furry convention in the first place.

HAHA that’s hilarious. I’m really gonna laugh if this happens.

If it happens at any cons I happen to be at, I’m gonna probably join the protest with my own sign, IN FURSUIT NEXT TO THEM.

Learn from Kage. Treat your enemy like a friend. They hate it.

  4. I doubt they’d show up. At ComicCon 2010 WBC’s protest managed to bring Comic Book Fans, Anime Fans, Sci-Fi fans, Video Gaming fans and Furries ALL together to counter-protest and upstage them.

So like why has no one tossed a live grenade in the middle of this group of idiots yet?

Or hell somethin less gorey. Like just give out eggs to the entire con and go pelt em for an hour.

This could turn out to be a good thing in the end though. WBC has a ton of enemies. If people see them attacking furries, people outside the fandom who are normally against WBC will probably help us out. United we stand, the extremists will fall.

    heres what i will say:

Protest or not, the con will go on.

    Lets protest WBC!

best laugh i got from this site. :D

  8. Wow, this plan is MADE of fail, so you want to get associated with a group despised by almost every human being on the planet, a group SO vile that the KKK counter protested them? wow, these are class A idiots.

I still disagree with the idea of giving this attention.

Yes! I almost want WBC to protest a furry convention.

Look up the 2011 ComicCon in California. WBC got owned by all the convention-goers there. It would be real icing on the cake to get dissed by furries.

This is great! Remember at anthrocon when the guys from 4 chan protested? It will be just like that! They will be hatin and chanting and the furries will be making fun of them!

  12. Well if one of them gets attacked and possibly murdered that would be a real shame. They have the right to protest dead soldier’s funerals, and events as much as they like after all.

  13. If this happens, let’s hug them with extreme prejudice. Trust me, nothing will terrify them more than kind human contact.

How people react to furries says more about them than it does about furries.

This says more about Kongregate and the Westboro Baptist Church than it does about furries.

I’m shocked nobody has reported them for treason on many occasions. They’ve offended almost every country and were banned from England.
