Furry Fiesta
It was a time of bell-bottoms and elevator shoes. It was a time when America was shedding its old identity to take on an entirely new one; everything from fashion to politics to technology was changing. It was a time for everyone to get big, act out, and experiment in a brave new world.
It was a time…of disco.
That’s right, the theme for Furry Fiesta 2011 is Disco Infurno – time to get your paws on the dance floor, shake your groove thing, and show the world just how far out we really are! We’re privileged to remain at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Addison for our third year, the fab pad that’s housed our shindig for both of our previous years, and they’re jazzed to have us back! Put on your best furry threads – rock it like a rhinestone cowboy, if you want! – and come visit us for a ringin’ time!
Furry Fiesta 2011 Guests of Honor
Both of our Guests of Honor have been chosen for their respective contributions which have helped to shape the furry fandom into the diverse and entertaining social landscape that we all enjoy. Join us in showing them the respect their due at Furry Fiesta 2011!
Guest of Honor: Lucky Coyote, Don’t Hug Cacti Studio
One of the founding members of the fursuit crafting company Don’t Hug Cacti (a sentiment which we at Furry Fiesta fully support!), Lucky Coyote is a skilled suit-maker who has been made a name for herself in the fursuiting community with her charming creations. She may make her home in Arizona these days, but she was born in Dallas, and…you can take the coyote out of Texas, but you can’t take the Texan out of the coyote!
Artist Guest of Honor: Megan Giles
Also known as Dustmeat or Spacecat, she’s a Texas native who’s been producing fantastic furry art for years. Featured in productions like Furrlough, Hit the Beach, and Shanda the Panda, her creativity and style have brought her renown in a variety of creative outlets, including voice acting for feature films and creating reference art for tattoo artists. This talented and prolific artist can be found everywhere including FurAffinity, VCL, DeviantArt, Elfwood and we’re delighted to be able to honor her properly!
