Anthrocon is the world’s largest convention for those fascinated with anthropomorphics, which are humanlike animal characters. We are a collection of artists, animators, writers, costumers, puppeteers, and just everyday fans who enjoy cartoon animals and their kin. Anthrocon 2011, the Anthropomorphic Institute of Magic, will take place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA, from June 23-26, 2011 with workshops, panel discussions, an art exhibition and a dealer room, and much more! Membership is open to any and all who like to imagine what it would be like if animals could walk and talk as we do.

We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Andy Runton will be joining us at our 2011 convention as our honored guest. Mr. Runton is the man behind the endearing creatures who populate the world of Owly creations which have earned him the Howard E. Day Memorial Prize, the Harvey Award, two Ignatz Awards, and the 2006 Eisner Award for “Best Publication for a Younger Audience.”

Ways to get in touch with us:

Anthrocon’s hotel rooms are not yet available for reservations!  On February 2, 2011, we will throw open the doors for people to make reservations at our flagship hotel, the Westin Convention Center, as well as our all-within-easy-walking-distance satellite hotels, the Doubletree, Courtyard and Omni William Penn.

Reservations for suites will be available starting in January, 2011.
